Curriculum

We are confident and proud to belong to Christ Church Primary (CCP) School. Our distinctive Christian vision, which is rooted in our mission statement: “I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) underpins our aspiration to provide the highest educational standards possible to realise the potential of all our children. This inspires us to live out our Christian values and to strive for excellence in all that we do whilst celebrating life in all its fullness. CCP School lives the Christian vision by nurturing its community through God’s love.

Our vision underpins all our school policies, which are shaped by our mission statement. Biblical verses are being added to our policy documents as we reflect on the theological underpinning of our curriculum.

Whilst we believe that every child should achieve their full potential in the image of Christ, we are committed to ensuring we develop the whole child, linked to Church of England’s vision July 2016 of “life in all its fullness at its heart”. Therefore we deliver a broad and exciting curriculum e.g. theme days and residential visits etc. Our curriculum is underpinned by a vision which seeks for all pupils to ‘Have Faith, Take Responsibility, Show Respect and Achieve. The school is committed to pupils enjoying a variety of experiences that enrich their learning.

Primary Curriculum

We follow the national curriculum in England. Key stages 1 and 2 framework. The national curriculum provides pupils with an introduction to the essential knowledge that they need to be educated citizens. It introduces pupils to the best that has been thought and said; and helps engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.
